Long Ears and Sharp Ears Kingdom of Faeries RE-RELEASE

RIP my wallet.

Long Ears and Sharp Ears is re-releasing Kingdom of Faeries this Sunday! Four new colors and new cuts!

This is a new cut for sure, and I am thinking it may be an OP. Is that also high waisted? HMM.  This particular dress does not look like it would be plus-size friendly, based on those sleeves alone.

That light blue is really pretty too. I wonder what colors will be available. Last time, it was light green, emerald green, light lavender and black.  I also wonder if the old colorways will be available in addition to the new ones.  Making guesses with minimal evidence, I am going to guess that in addition to light blue, there will also be a light pink, a dark sapphire blue, and grey.

As for the other cuts …it is also a mystery! They don’t even have any of it up in their taobao shop.

I really want to get something from the rerelease, but I also found out today that my Fire Dress got in so it will be shipped to me soon.  I have that to look forward to.  But man, I really love this print. (・ε・` )

Summer ILD – half ass stay at home edition

This morning, I realized that this year is my third Summer ILD. Two years ago was when day 2 of Paradiso fell on ILD and there was a picnic at the art musuem, and last year was me half-assing a coord to go eat pastries alone because I was getting over being ill and also recovering from Paradiso.  This year, I recovered from getting sick again, and half assed it even further!

I also pretty much recreated the outfit I wore last year. Pink half blouse from Diamond Honey, Angelic Pretty Romantic Cat JSK, normie as hell socks, The Black Ribbon petticoat, and some pink shoes. Last year I wore normie socks that were pink with cats, and this was because at the time, I did not have the lace ankle socks yet. This year, it is because I am not even wearing my coord outside of my apartment.  I am not going anywhere or posting this to instagram, so not going to give any fucks.

This JSK is so damn disappointing.  I mean, the print is beautiful and I love it. It has pockets. But this dress short on me (86cm! Way too damn short!), and it just does not fit the way it should.  Looking at measurements again (bust being 90-97cm, waist being up to 79.5cm), it doesn’t fit because my waist is a bit too big (82cm).  But this dress is also high waisted, and I am thinking about my natural waist.  But even if I lost 10cm around my waist, the skirt would still only be 86cm long.

I did use this opportunity to try and find a good place to take pictures in my apartment as well. So far, leaning the mirror against the window gives the best lighting for the dress itself, but the rest of everything is lost in darkness.  Maybe I will have to recruit my honey to just take coord pictures every. damn. time.

The apartment is pretty good for selfies though.

Filters are magical, as are app stickers. I also didn’t decide to put on makeup until deciding I wanted to take selfies, so threw on eyeliner hastily.

And with Billy cat, because cat selfies are the best.

I think ever since my first summer ILD, I have spent it being lazy and ditching meetups, or this year, being a lonelita who doesn’t have a group to hang out with anyway.  This time next summer, we would have moved again, so I wonder what next year will be like.

Tiny bits of hope for brand and late Spring AP releases

Checked AP USA and AP-Japan online shops, and behold, Banquet Celeste and Sweet Lacy Basket JSKs are still for sale! And they have not gone ON sale yet because there are still some around.  So there is still hope for me to actually buy them, althought maybe not in my first choice colorways, but I can live with that.

I have mostly ignored the other releases recently, but let’s go through them anyway. It also appears that AP USA is releasing things the same weekend as in Japan, so there is not a nice buffer period anymore.

I last talked about Space Lollipop, so the releases since then have been  Wonder Patisserie, Doll’s Tea Party, Vintage Marine, Unicorn Mermaid and now Toy Doll Box. I will comment on if things sold out also, because that is a measure of how popular it actually was.

I swear there was a cake dress last year, and it was not very popular. Wonder Patisserie was released 4/21 and only one of the JSKs is sold out online.  I see themes of Alice in Wonderland and cake. It must go in with Wonder Queen and the other Alice-themed print with Wonder in the name from the past 2 years.  Also, I hate the bodice of the JSK.

Doll’s Tea Party was released 4/28.  Kira Imai prints are usually popular as heck, and this one is not an exception. This one features these ugly face bears, and sold out except in Black in Japan.  A few of the other colorways are available as OPs on APUSA, but this was fairly popular. They would have sold out 100% if that black colorway was pastel blue. The lavender colorway looks grey here, but they swear it is lavender.  It’s an all over print, which seems to be kind of popular this year.  The JSK cut is simple and really nice, and I would have bought this JSK if I liked the print.

Unicorn Mermaid features actual unicorns and under the sea themes, but no actual mermaids.  Plus, more crosses that AP is so fond of shoehorning into prints for no damn reason.  But I love the name, and the JSK cut is super cute. If Doll’s Tea Party feels otome to me, this this feels larme to me.  This was released 5/19, and only the navy blue JSK colorway sold out, so not super popular. But I like it, which continues the trend of me liking things that other people hate.

Toy Doll Box was released yesterday! And I hate it because it is the sugar vomit type of AP that people love and I am just not a fan of. But plenty of people like this print, as it sold out the JSK and salopette in both Japan and the US! The JSK cut is actually quite nice, and the scalloped hem at the bottom is also cute. The OP did not completely sell out anywhere, which is interesting.  I bet there will be a Special Set or an MTO of this print.

Not gonna comment on Vintage Marine, because marine prints are so boring to me, but it exists.  A quick look on APUSA indicates that the print wasn’t too popular as everything is still available. There was also a non-print variant of this released at the same time, Tradition Marine, with different cuts but the same theme of “marine”, and it did better.

I think AP is getting to the end of the prints previewed at the beginning of this year, so there will probably be a fashion show to show off more prints! We have not seen a cat print yet, or the yearly fall rose print, so I expect that at least.

May Adventures

This is my third weekend in Portland. First two weekends, I was still moving stuff in and being drop-dead exhausted and trying to find grocery stores that I liked.

Finally getting dressed up again has brought many things to my attention. For example, when I wear lolita and then have to go prepare food, I would wear my Pusheen apron. I left it back at my Mom’s house. Also, where the heck did I put all of my jewelry? I packed it, and I remember seeing it once here and unpacking. But did I pack it up again? Which box did I put it in?

Anyway, today I wore a Little Dipper half blouse, Cat’s Broom The Secret Garden High Waist JSK, lace socks, pink heels from Amazon, and two petticoats- one being The Black Ribbon petticoat I got last Christmas. The other was just a lame one from Amazon, however pictured above is JUST TBR petticoat. It is a somewhat incomplete outfit, since no jewelry or wrist accessories, and I am not happy with how my hair looked. I really should just wear it down, but we were grocery shopping today. I wore both petticoats out grocery shopping, then came home and removed one of them and then took coord pictures.  I also feel unsure about ankle socks every time I wear them, but I think this turned out okay.

However, I felt like I could fit into a JSK a bit better than before. Also, I seem to be attracted to this particular dress whenever I am about to do something new.   My boyfriend graciously took pictures of me today, which is why I have actual full coord pictures.  I am hopefully going to get a full length mirror soon so I don’t have to bug him to do this, but the pictures I ended up posting here and on my instagram looked really good. He caught a few natural looking poses, unlike the usual stiff and awkward ones that get taken when I ask people to take my picture. I am really grateful for him. ❤

I am starting to feel a cold coming on, which may be tradition for me now in late May. So I got some cup noodles because warm soup is good for colds. Chicken tortilla flavor, so it was supposed to be spicy but I am not buying it! Right now, I am already feeling better so maybe I am cured. Hah. Fluid and rest is the answer.

Today’s mission was to go investigate a stationary shop called Little Otsu, in the Richmond neighborhood. It wasn’t too hard to get to, but parking sucked. That is a theme of bigger cities, so not too surprising.  It has lots of notebooks that come in plain, lined, grid and dot grid. Dot grid is the hot new thing, and I really like it. They carry the MD Midori A5 grid notebooks, which are pretty sweet notebooks.  They also have the Stalogy 018 365 days notebook, which I have heard is like a poor man’s hobonichi.  For 2019, I want to do a one page a day scrapbook-type diary, which I have seen other bloggers do and it is really cute.  I can get them online, but it is always so nice to see things in person before buying it.

The other half of the mission was to go to a bakery!

We then went to St. Honoré Boulangerie, which is a French bakery with several locations.  This one was right down the street, and was very cute.  We just got a few pastries to go, which we ate once we got home. Shown above are a strawberry mille feuille, and a limited edition caramel chocolate St Honoré (it’s a pastry covered in chocolate mousse, caramel whip cream and tiny chocolate choux also filled with chocolate cream). It was delicious!

Next weekend is Summer ILD, so I will think of something fun to do and get dressed up for. Maybe go find another bakery to get treats from.

Angelic Pretty Space Lollipop MTO ?!

Space Lollipop was literally released this past weekend, and isn’t even 100% sold out (the Pink JSK is still available!), and hasn’t been released at AP USA yet, but it is getting a Made to Order.

I like how the model looks about as confused about this as I am.

If you want to get in on this MTO, it will be in stores (in Japan), so fire up your shopping services, and also on the online site.  I would expect this print to come to AP USA fairly soon, unless this MTO announcement means they sold so much that there is no stock left to send west (this is just bad theorizing on my part. I have no idea how economics or business works). This will take place 4/14 to 4/18 Japan time, and your dress will actually arrive in November 2018, so keep that in mind.

Obviously I won’t be partaking in this MTO, even though the JSK cut is very cute. I am just not the biggest fan of the print. It’s not terrible, it’s just not something that is immediately appealing to me.

March Sweets Parade – I actually did it for once

The month is almost over and my plans have gone mostly ignored, but I finally dressed up to go eat pastries today. I came to the conclusion that eating pastries alone while dressed up is really, really stressful.  I probably would not have done so if I did not also need to go to the grocery store next door.

I also really like the March freebie stickers on Line right now, so I have been using the heck out of them.  I will be sad when they expire in a few months. Anyway, today’s outfit was Fanplusfriend Musical Palmer JSK in Navy Blue, black blouse, black tights, and my navy shoes from Antaina. I only wore them for the picture. If this was for a meet, I would have worn them, but since it was just me going out to run errands, I switched to some black flats instead.

I was worried that the crap petticoat I bought off Aliexpress would be too long for this dress, but alas, it was perfect. That petticoat, as dubious as it’s origins are, has turned out to be really great, even though it is kind of scratchy.  So great that I keep forgetting to use the one that I got from The Black Ribbon last Black Friday. ಠ_ಠ What the hell.

I really need to alter this JSK at some point, because the right strap does nothing but slide down and drive me insane.  Otherwise, this is probably the best fitting JSK I currently own.

So I went to Tous les Jour and got some pastries but only ate the Fruit Pastry there. I had other grocery shopping to do and wasn’t feeling super hungry. I was even thinking that this pastry would be super easy to make yourself. Just make and bake some good, cute pastry shells (that is the hard part), make whipped cream (I am pretty good at this), add cute fruit and dust with powdered sugar. The fruits are strawberry, green grape, purple grape, raspberry (it is there but hiding) and blackberry.  Maybe not the most cost efficient thing to make, but it could be done. So I want to try this sometime.

I have mentioned before that wearing a darker outfit like this during warmer spring months (even if it doesn’t feel like spring quite yet) is difficult for me, and I feel like I stepped out of my comfort zone with this. But it looks cute. I am glad I did it.

Angelic Pretty Dramatic Rose re-release

Once again, Angelic Pretty as a brand is trying to drive an ice pick into my heart. Three dresses I am in love with since the beginning of this year.

Dramatic Rose was originally released as a print in 2014, and this is a new OP and JSK cut. I don’t care about the OP, but here is the JSK.

White Colorway looks perfect.  Everything I wanted from the white (ivory?) colorway from Fairy Rose Princess, but BETTER. The highest form of grandma couch-kei.

Oh no, the lavender is amazing. The roses are ALSO lavender.

Surprising, the pink is not my favorite, but I still love it, and I still want it in my life. This reminds me of some of the older Angelic Pretty releases that were super pink.

Mint is often my least favorite colorway of things. Not that I really dislike it, but it just brings so much baggage along (as in I don’t own anything else that is mint so I would need to get a ton of accessories to go along and shoes and blah blah blah). But this looks pretty.

These go up for sale 3/17 at noon Japan time, so TONIGHT at 10pm CST (I am not responsible for you not doing your own research regarding time zones so if you are going to buy all of this stuff, please double check that).
